In order to implement The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Taiwan government makes the "Act to Implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" to protect the rights of persons with disabilities, ensure their opportunities to engage in society as well as make CRPD as a Domestic Law.

The Act regulates Executive Yuan to establish a committee for the promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities.

The Act came into effect from December 3, 2014.
